Pyrum Innovations is a young, innovative company based in Pfettisheim, France. We are about to build the first tire-recycling machine worldwide based on a unique patented pyrolysis process. A test machine will be assembled in early 2008 which will pave the way for the construction of industrial sized machines. After a testing phase this outstanding technology will then be ready to be licensed through ready-to-use factories all over the world.
Pyrolysis is the thermal dismantling of organic substances (respectively rubber and plastic wastes; in this case particularly rubber granulates made of scraped tire). A pyrolysis plant is made of 13 parts. Those are described in our public concept presentation.
The plant is practically energy independent, solely the start of the machine requires energy from external sources. Thereafter, a self-sufficient cycle makes it possible, to create, among other products, the energy necessary to run the machine. In some cases, an energy surplus is produced that can be sold as thermal energy or electricity respectively.
The following products can be generated: Rubber flour, soot, coke, activated charcoal, Diesel/fuel oil, gas (similar to natural gas), electricity and warmth.
Expensive and demanded raw materials (e.g. soot and activated charcoal) are produced to be sold.
In the future, a substantial meaning will be given to the recycling of rubber and plastic wastes, even more if expensive products and energy can be created by this process.
The environmental standards of the very strict 2006 German waste law are ensured.
Our pyrolysis process has different steps:
Step 1
- Gathering of used tires and storage
- Fragmentation/cut of the tires in rubber pieces of 3 to 12 mm
- Separation of metal and textile for re-use
- Intermediate Storage of the rubber pieces
Step 2
- Pyrolysis of the rubber pieces
- Products separation: vapor of pyrolysis and coke
Step 3
- Condensation of the vapor
- Separation of oil and gaz
- Intermediate Storage of oil
Step 4
- Cool down of coke
- Sifting and classification of coke in the usual faces of grains for the trade
Step 5
Creation of energy for the whole process:
- Production of hot gas for the pyrolysis engine
- Recuperation of the combustion energy
- Production of electrical energy for self-sufficiency and resale
Step 6
- Correction of the pyrolysis oil
- Storage of the various oil types
Step 7
- Cleaning of the drawing-off air - according to prescribed European standards
Step 8
During the improvement of the intermediate products: Heat, pyrolysis oil and coke, it is possible to obtain other products. These are, for example:
- Coupling heat/energy with residents
- Soot creation via pyrolysis oil
- Creation of activated charcoal via pyrolysis coke
The technological advance of this technology is nearing 10 years. Thanks to this process, we are able to prove that it is possible to ally high revenues to a world urgent problem - the whole in an environment friendly manner. To sum up it's a safe and high-interest-bearing investment!
