Pyrum Innovations AG: Homburg City Council Votes Unanimously in Favor of New Pyrum Plant

Dillingen / Saar and Homburg, February 16, 2023 – Pyrum Innovations AG (“Pyrum,” the “Company,” ISIN: DE000A2G8ZX8), a pioneering company that sustainably recycles scrap tires using its globally patented, unique pyrolysis technology, announces that the Homburg City Council has unanimously approved the sale of a city-owned property to Pyrum and, with it, the construction of a new pyrolysis plant. The contract to secure the property is expected to be signed shortly, so that planning and the permitting process for Pyrum’s second facility in the Saarland can begin as soon as possible.

We now want to begin planning as soon as possible and are confident that the permitting process will go just as smoothly as it did for the expansion in Dillingen, since we’re working with the same authorities.”

Like Pyrum’s main plant in Dillingen, the new facility in Homburg will also consist of three pyrolysis reactors, which, once completed, will have a processing capacity of approximately 20,000 metric tons of scrap tires per year. The location offers numerous valuable advantages: In addition to its proximity to the Michelin plant in Homburg—from which Pyrum has been recycling scrap tires for three years and with which the collaboration can now be expanded—and to BASF in Ludwigshafen —a strategic partner since fall 2020 and a buyer of Pyrum’s pyrolysis oil—the property has a rail spur that enables environmentally friendly logistics. Furthermore, the new facility will free up capacity at the Dillingen plant, which can be used to process tires from Luxembourg without the need to build a separate plant in the neighboring country.
