Dillingen / Saar, March 29, 2023 – Pyrum Innovations AG (“Pyrum,” the “Company,” ISIN: DE000A2G8ZX8), a pioneering company that sustainably recycles end-of-life tires using its globally patented, unique pyrolysis technology, has received ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system following a comprehensive audit. The company now meets all key criteria to supply its industrial carbon black (recovered carbon black, “rCB”) to the automotive industry. The rCB is used in the tire industry for the production of new tires, as well as in the plastics and electronics industries. Previously, Pyrum had already received ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system and achieved Silver status in the Ecovadis sustainability ranking. A year ago, Pyrum also entered into a development agreement with premium tire manufacturer Continental with the goal of producing particularly high-quality industrial carbon black for Continental’s tire production. With the ISO 14001 certification, the final hurdle has now been cleared.

ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed-upon standard that specifies requirements for an environmental management system. For Pyrum, this certification once again underscores the particularly sustainable impact the company achieves with its pyrolysis technology for recycling scrap tires.

Both products are thus considered sustainable and renewable raw materials. Pyrum has also received ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system and ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system. These achievements have also been recognized by international experts in the tire industry. For example, Pyrum was honored in the “Best Tire Recycling Innovation” category at the inaugural Recircle Awards and was nominated for the Saarland State Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
