Head of Maintenance (m/​f/​d)

As Head of Maintenance, you will work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) and Engineering. You control and monitor coöperation with our service providers and external companies and are the direct contact for authorities and testing organisations (e.g. TÜV, experts).

Strategic tasks:

  • Development and implementation of a sustainable maintenance strategy (preventive, corrective, predictive).
  • Budget and cost responsibility for the maintenance area.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal regulations, standards and internal guidelines (e.g. BetrSichV, AwSV, WHG, explosion protection).
  • Participation in investment projects, new construction and conversion projects with regard to technical feasibility, ease of maintenance and lifecycle costs.

Operational tasks:

  • Management and further development of the maintenance team (mechanics, electrical engineering, automation, external service providers if necessary).
  • Planning, coördination and monitoring of maintenance, inspection and repair work on production facilities, supply systems and infrastructure.
  • Organisation and control of shutdowns, revisions and regular inspections, analysis of system malfunctions and sustainable implementation of improvement measures (root cause analysis).
  • Documentation of the work carried out in a maintenance or ERP system.
  • Ensuring the availability of spare parts and stock management.

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable technical training with further training as a technician/​master craftsman
  • Sound knowledge in the fields of mechanics, electrics/​electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Several years of experience in the management and organisation of a maintenance department, ideally in a manufacturing industrial company
  • Practical experience in leading teams, coördinating external service providers and in project management of investment and optimisation projects
  • Leadership personality with strong organisational skills and assertiveness
